They do not represent reference values, accepted tolerances, calibration standards, or recommended clinical limits. Community comparison results may be affected by the number and distribution of participating institutions, incomplete data, differences in equipment and technique, calibration laboratory traceability, source model, measurement method, data-entry practices, statistical methods, and other factors.

Apparent trends, outliers, differences, warning signals, or areas of agreement should be interpreted using appropriate professional judgement and independently investigated before any action is taken.
